The Raduga Trio

The Raduga Trio cast their magical musical spell over the VulgarGrad gig last night pulling together threads of gypsy, jazz, Balkan and swing music and weaving it together with Eastern European story and culture and an impromptu dance boot camp. Supporting the crazy Russians were Nina Kharakoz – accordion and voice (and dance instruction), Diane Lenham – clarinet and Rob Weule – rhythm guitar, in a set that highlighted the Slavic feel of the night and set a fun tone for the evening. Great gig organised by Charity Mirow of Fusion Boutique for a great event and congrats to the Carrington Baroque Room for another in a string of fun, packed events.

VulgarGrad

People say that VulgarGrad are Russian criminals on the run but we think they come to KatoombA because K-Towners get it. The Eastern-European atmosphere of the Baroque Room was like coming home for the local Moutain folk who had a great time slapping backs, drinking vodka and participating in bouts of Slavic boot scooting well into the evening. VulgarGrad’s Jacek Koman and his band of 60’s Batman henchmen;
Andrew Tanner: contrabass balalaika
Renato VaCirca: drums
Ros Jones: trombone
Adam Pierzchalski: trumpet
Nara Demasson: guitar
Phil McLeod: piano accordion
helped transport a packed Baroque Room back to the old country. Once again we must thank Charity Mirow of Fusion Boutique for a great event and congrats to the Carrington Baroque Room for another in a string of fun, packed events.
