Blue Mountains Arts Directory is arts event guide for the entire Blue Mountains region. If you don’t see your event here let us know the details. BMAD is a guide which covers live events and exhibitions from Penrith to Lithgow incorporating supoport from arts organisations like BMCAN and radio programs like ARTHouse on RBM89.1FM, as well as a Facebook page and a Website with exhibition guides, artist, gallery and organisation directories and regular reviews and photos and videos from the events.

A dynamic mix of slinky Argentinian tango with its vibrant spices of Spanish and other Latin music styles, Canto Latino draws from a wealth of artistic experience in a unique combination of renowned performers from the Blue Mountains. While all four of these musicians have very distinctive styles with well-established reputations in separate areas, they each share a desire to venture into new territories and renovations within the Latin genre. If you are crying out for culture that is in the moment take the drive to Gang Gang Gallery and not only experience the magnificent art of the Blue Mountains but also enjoy one of the currently rare opportunities for live music with the threads of traditional Argentinean tango, Portuguese fado, Mexican ranchera and sones, South American and Spanish folklórico.

Two works from Canadian Sculptor Ellen Jewett have just arrived from Ontario for the ‘ Beauty of the Beast’ Exhibition at Gang Gang Gallery which is on at the gallery till to 21st September.

Ellen was born in Markham Ontario Canada and took to shaping three dimensional forms naturally at a young age. In 2007 Ellen completed her post secondary honours degree in Anthropology and Fine Art at McMaster University. While finishing her undergraduate degrees Ellen worked in medical illustration, exotic animal care and was teaching a children’s class on stop motion animation. By the time she presented her thesis, Ellen's academic and artistic interests in the biological where intrinsically interwoven.
Considered by those who know her as a natural entrepreneur, Ellen set out on her own path as a career artist while still in high school, spending long summer weekends travelling to exhibitions. Ever the curious soul, while working as an artist Ellen has continued to study art and science respectively. According to Ellen, it all informs her art; enriching the content of the unconscious narrative flow.
